About Wild Fox & Honey

Hey there! A little about me... I'm a proud mum of six amazing children—four boys and two girls. Three of my kids have diagnoses, including a rare chromosome condition (6p Deletion), ASD, ADHD, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disability and Visual Processing Disorder. This gives me a unique perspective having both parental and professional experience in the disability sector. I value transparency, clear communication, kindness, and a commitment to quality over quantity. I strive to bring those values into everything I do.

With a Bachelor of Education specialising in Early Childhood and majors in Psychology, a Diploma of Child Care and Education, Youth Mental Health First Aid certification, and a Diploma of Professional Styling, I bring a diverse and unique skill set to my work. My qualifications are complimented by my lived experience with disabilities, which gives me a deep understanding and empathy for the challenges faced by individuals and families in this space. This combination of education and personal experience enables me to provide comprehensive, informed, and compassionate support, tailored to the needs of each individual I work with.

Innovative Community Engagement Practitioner

As a Community engagement practitioner, I focus on fostering personal growth, well-being, and resilience, ensuring participants can connect successfully with others. All services are personalised to align with the participants' goals, maximising the benefits of the support provided. Participants can expect assistance in:

  • Preparing for and accessing employment and training opportunities.
  • Building capacity to seek help in the community independently. HOW: I will build capacity for individuals to seek help in the community independently by first assessing their current level of confidence and understanding of available resources. I will then provide education on how to identify and access relevant community services, such as healthcare, employment support, or social groups. This will include practical skills like how to approach service providers, ask for assistance, and advocate for their needs. Through guided practice, role-playing, and gradual exposure to real-life situations, I will support individuals in developing the self-assurance and competence needed to seek help on their own, empowering them to navigate community resources independently.
  • Navigating programs and systems to engage in employment and community activities.
  • Enhancing self-worth, confidence, independence, and understanding of their disability.
  • Developing adaptive social competencies, including awareness of expectations and social norms. HOW: I will work on developing adaptive social competencies by first helping individuals gain an understanding of social expectations and norms within various contexts. This involves teaching them to recognise and interpret social cues, body language, and communication styles. Through role-playing exercises, guided social interactions, and reflective discussions, I will support them in practicing appropriate responses and behaviors in different situations. This process will build their confidence and ability to navigate social settings more effectively, leading to improved social interactions and relationships.
  • Improving self-regulation and emotional awareness.
  • Discovering passions, skills, and interests, and linking them to employment pathways.
  • Fostering self-care and self-awareness.
  • Recognising the importance of relationships, social contribution, and community engagement for maintaining well-being.
  • Developing individualised programs to teach healthy relationship skills and social skills

Support Coordination

As a Support Coordinator, I assist participants by helping them:

  • Understand their plan and how to effectively utilise it. HOW: I will help individuals understand their plan and effectively utilise it by first reviewing the details of the plan with them, breaking down each component into understandable terms. We will discuss the specific goals, supports, and services outlined in the plan, ensuring they have a clear understanding of what is available to them. I will guide them through examples of how to access these supports and how to track their usage to ensure they are making the most of their plan. Additionally, I will provide ongoing support and education on how to make informed decisions about their services, adapt the plan as their needs change, and advocate for any necessary adjustments during reviews. This approach will empower them to take full advantage of the resources available, helping them achieve their goals effectively.

  • Connect with supports and services, while promoting choice and control.

  • Tailor their plan to meet individual needs.

  • Establish supports and services, including navigating service agreements and bookings. HOW: I will assist in establishing supports and services by guiding individuals through the process of selecting and connecting with the appropriate providers, at their choice and control. Together, we will review available options to ensure they align with their goals and needs. I will then help navigate the service agreements, explaining the terms, conditions, and expectations clearly, so they feel confident in what they are agreeing to.

Once the service agreements are in place, I will and or assist with the logistics of setting up bookings, making sure they understand how to schedule services and what to expect from each session. If any adjustments or additional services are needed, I will be there to help modify agreements and make new bookings, ensuring everything is managed smoothly. This hands-on support will ensure effective and appropriate supports are in place, reducing stress and maximising the benefits of their plan.

  • Review and adjust support arrangements as needed.

  • Plan ahead for potential crisis situations.

  • Manage their plan and maintain connections with supports.

  • Prepare for their plan reassessment.

Psychosocial Recovery Coach

As a Recovery coach, I empower individuals with psychosocial disabilities by providing tailored support to enhance their independence, as well as their social and economic participation. Through personalised guidance and collaboration, recovery coaches help individuals take greater control of their lives, enabling them to better manage the complex challenges of daily living. This support is designed to build resilience, foster self-efficacy, and improve overall well-being, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and autonomous life.

By working closely with participants, recovery coaches:

  • Develop personalised strategies to navigate daily challenges.

  • Encourage self-determination and confidence in decision-making.

  • Facilitate connections to resources and services that promote social inclusion.

  • Support participants in setting and achieving personal goals. HOW: I will support participants in setting and achieving personal goals by first engaging in a collaborative conversation to identify their strengths, interests, and aspirations. We will work together to establish clear, realistic, and meaningful goals that align with their values and long-term vision.

Once goals are set, I will help break them down into manageable steps, creating an actionable plan with specific milestones and timelines. I will provide ongoing encouragement, monitor progress, and make adjustments as needed to stay on track. By offering guidance, resources, and practical strategies, I will empower participants to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals, ensuring that they feel supported throughout their journey.

  • Provide tools to manage mental health and emotional well-being.

  • Promote engagement in meaningful activities, including employment and community involvement. HOW: I will promote engagement in meaningful activities, including employment and community involvement, by first understanding each participant’s interests, skills, and passions. Together, we will identify opportunities that align with their personal goals and values, such as potential job roles, volunteer positions, or community programs that resonate with their aspirations.

I will then assist in creating a tailored plan that outlines steps to get involved in these activities, providing guidance on how to navigate any challenges that may arise. This includes helping participants build the necessary skills, confidence, and networks to pursue employment or community engagement. Additionally, I will connect them with relevant resources, support services, and mentors who can further enhance their involvement.

By fostering a sense of purpose and belonging, I will encourage participants to actively engage in their chosen activities, helping them experience the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes from contributing to their community and achieving personal growth.

  • Assist in building sustainable routines and coping mechanisms to maintain progress over time.

The goal is to create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive, regain control, and lead a life that aligns with their aspirations and values.
